OUR HISTORY
Love Fellowship Outreach Church was founded by Bishop Antonio L. Johnson Sr. on April 24, 1993. With just his immediate family and three other supportive friends, they held their first service in the home of Deacon Richard and Bertha Johnson.
After that first service they moved to the Ramada Inn and remained there for two months after being forced to move due to complaints from management that our worship services were “too loud.” Next we moved to the Salvation Army Boy’s Club. And after three months of sweeping dirty floors and moving game equipment and setting up folding chairs just to have service, God moved on our behalf with the City of Winston-Salem and we were able to move to the old Morningside Recreation Center. While at that location God moved in awesome ways as we changed the drug infested community with love, outreach programs, and the Word of God. And due to the grace bestowed upon us, the ministry grew spiritually, financially, and physically beyond belief.
After a season of “purging and process” in the ministry God ordained the rebirth of Love Fellowship Outreach Church on April 24, 2004. Once again He has shown Himself faithful as we diligently progress into the destiny and purpose for which God has called us. For it is indeed by His grace that we continue to move in the wisdom, knowledge, and power of God that brings glory to His name. For it is our heart’s desire to walk in LOVE, grow in FELLOWSHIP, and endeavor in OUTREACH, that we may be the CHURCH that God has called and ordained us to be. To God be the glory for the things He has done.
OUR PASTOR
Pastor Antonio L. Johnson Sr. was born October 26,1964 to Jake and Jeanette Johnson in Winston-Salem, N.C. His parents instilled in him the value of family, hard work, honesty, independence, and integrity in all that you do. He is the third sibling of three and the father of four Deshaun, Antonio Jr., LaMarcus, Isaiah, and granddaughter, Sonaya.
Under the direction of Godly parents and his grandfather and pastor, Bishop Jake J. Johnson, he began serving in the ministry of Mt. Nebo True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Church at an early age. While in this ministry he served faithfully as an Associate Minister, Executive Board Co-Chairman, Sunday School Teacher, and Outreach Minister in his local church as well as various local ministries. In April 1993 he answered the call of God upon his life to pastor and founded Love Fellowship Outreach Church, Inc. While pastor he helped establish the Christian Men Mentor Association where he served as Spiritual Advisor and teacher. He also established the L.F.O.C. Community Outreach, The Community Youth Empowerment Program, and Leadership Training for various ministries. He also served as State Bishop for the T.L.C. Ministries, Inc. under the leadership of Apostle J. Hunter.
As pastor of Love Fellowship Outreach Church the ministry has grown into a diversified group of people originating from all different backgrounds and circumstances. After going through “process” God manifested the order of kingdom principles in Pastor Johnson that has become the focal point of his ministry. The divine order of “Father-Son” relationships in the local body of Christ is what he implements in ministry as each individual member discovers their rightful place in ministry and in the kingdom of God. For he believes it’s not what God is only doing today through his ministry, but through relationships in kingdom order the perpetual anointing will be passed on from generation to generation. It’s the “Generational Blessing” that Pastor Johnson prepares each member in the body to aim and focus on in order to serve the generation after it. Everything producing after it’s own kind for the “double portion” anointing of the work of God.
Pastor Johnson has proven himself to be a man of integrity and courage. His love for God and people is evident as he ministers to all types of people in all types of circumstances. He believes in being real in all you do and say for then and only then can God use you for His glory. For it is in his transparency before God and man that people see not him, but God.
